According to a post I found at HackYourselfPretty, the amount of water a person should drink depends on the climate in which they live, how much exercise they get, as well as our body size and weight. Eight glasses of water each day is the general recommendation, but may be too much or too little depending on the person.

2 litres a day is about right but i'm not sure how many people actually end up drinking the correct amount..
